Job Description

The Market Director manages the Project Lead Team within the assigned office and collaborates with Market Directors across all locations to ensure alignment and consistency. In addition to working as a Project Lead, the Market Director helps set the direction and training of the Project Lead Team, maintaining a high level of communication with the ownership team and participating in regular leadership discussions.

Your job will be to:

  • Continue working on projects as a Project Lead with targeted sales goals as discussed with Ownership

  • Participate in the interview process for new hires

  • Set strategy, schedule, and content for new hire onboarding and training

  • Lead efforts to identify and drive project process improvements, partnering with the Design Director to develop solutions and present recommendations to ownership

  • Lead Project Lead Meetings, setting cadence and content

  • Identify training opportunities at Haworth and other vendors, working with ownership to set the annual training budget and timelines

  • Provide strategic leadership for RFP development on small to mid-sized projects, guiding proposal strategy and execution.

  • Serve as escalation point for personnel and project issues, involving ownership when needed

  • Conduct performance reviews of Project Leads alongside the VP of People

  • Direct strategic planning and budgeting for annual In-Market Events, providing executive oversight of implementation in partnership with the Brand + Communications Director

  • Work collaboratively with the leadership team to sustain high performance and ensure consistent communication and processes across the organization

  • Act as primary liaison for Haworth and vendor communications; streamlining internal collaboration and advocating for encompas’ priorities.

Preferred Skills + Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Architecture, or related field.

  • At least 5 Years of Contract Furniture Industry Experience

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with Bluebeam, CET Designer/Spec, and Canva preferred.

  • Strategic thinker with ability to identify and evaluate opportunities aligned with business goals.

  • Skilled in executive decision-making, task delegation, and leveraging team strengths.

  • Experienced in leading project management and marketing teams to deliver winning proposals.

  • Self-starter adept at managing multiple projects, budgets, and schedules with precision.

  • Strong communicator and relationship builder, comfortable networking across diverse channels.

  • Dynamic presenter passionate about sharing knowledge and engaging audiences.

  • Proven ability to foster collaboration and maintain strong working relationships.

  • Prior experience managing people is preferred

Compensation

  • Salary (dependent upon experience and industry standards), with added commission based on performance.
